FOUNDATIONS
OF THE MANAGEMENT OF THE KNOWLEDGE
They speak of Management
of the Knowledge, others of organizacional learning, others of
Intellectual Capital and, even, some of intangible assets. But,
independently of its name, what is the Management of the Knowledge?
Kill already time the
organizations discovered that the intangible assets, and not physical and
financial them, were those that contributed a true value to them. These
intangible assets are the resources or capacities of the organization. For
example, the capacities are active intangible that are generated in the
organization when the resources begin to work in group. The organization
uses these assets to create value, although they are not valued from a
countable point of view.
The ideal would be to
analyze as they are evolving the intangible ones in the time; that is to
say, to be informed if the intangible assets increase or diminish between
comparable periods of time.
In the Eighties it
appears the Theory of Resources and Capacities in the academic scope. This
theory can be considered like the precursor of the Management of the
Knowledge. It is centered in analyzing the resources and capacities of the
organizations as it bases for the formulation of his strategy. The
foundations of the Theory of Resources and Capacities are the following
ones:
1. - The organizations
are different to each other based on the resources and capacities that
they have in a while certain, resources and capacities that are not
available for all the companies in the same conditions, fact that
explains its differences of yield.
2. - The resources and
capacities have every time a more excellent paper in the strategy. The
question that there is to answer is the one with what necessities I can
satisfy, and not the one of what necessities I want to satisfy.
3. - The benefit of a
company is function of the characteristics of the surroundings and the
resources and capacities what it has.
Once analyzed the
importance of the intangible ones, it is necessary to remember that most
of them usually they are based on the information, the learning and the
knowledge. It is in this point where the Theory of Resources and
Capacities connects with the organizational learning or Learning
Organization.
